Take 5

Sometimes stressful days call for a quick-fix. This grounding technique can refocus your senses when you are sensing you might just snap.

Thursday's are typically the most stressful day of our week around here. Our energy is low, the demands, high, and as much as I like to think my crockpot-- aka "Nanny Crocker"-- saves the day, sometimes I just need more help. So when the afternoon crazy comes, I am reminded of the importance of a good ol' time-out. Mamas and dads, kiddos and pups, get yourselves outside for five minutes and try out this simple grounding technique.

While your to-do list might not magically disappear, nor your kiddos magically get along, sometimes a breath of fresh air, some warm sunshine on the skin, and the smell of fresh grass is magic enough to get yourself through to "Nanny Crocker's dinner.

"The world is full of magic things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper." W.B. Yeats
